29th Dec: Chelsea vs Brighton Betting Preview

After correctly picking our Leicester City to cause Liverpool problems last night we are on a high at previewing games across the Premier League at the moment.

Today I am taking a closer look at the Premier League game between Chelsea and Brighton to see if we can find a value betting angle in this one.

Chelsea look to have recovered from their little stutter that saw them draw games against Wolves and Everton after clocking up two away wins on the bounce - both by two goal margins.

After that slip up by Liverpool last night Chelsea can see this as a great opportunity to pile the pressure on their rivals and push themselves up into 2nd spot in the table. They have had issues with injuries and illness in recent weeks but look to have close to a full strength squad back now and with Lukaku scoring in his last game that will be a real positive for the whole team.

Brighton are having their best 17 game start to a top flight season and a lot of that is down to them being stubborn and difficult to beat, this is summed up by the fact that they have drawn five of their last six Premier League away games - including a 2-2 draw at Liverpool. This shows they are not a team to be underestimated and can prove to be a coupon buster for many.

Last season this game ended in a draw and there is a lot of evidence pointing to a similar outcome this season but we feel the return to form of Chelsea in recent games along with the return of Lukaku will make this game theirs. The bookies appear to have gone extra heavy on Chelsea with them priced around 1.38 with most bookmakers which I feel is harsh on Brighton and given their record a punt on the Draw or Double Chance market may suit some.

I have gone in a different direction though to find value in this one with the following tip:

Tip: Both Teams to Score

Odds: 2.10

Brighton have scored in six of their last eight away Premier League games and Chelsea have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four Premier League games so this seems to offer good value today.

Whatever you decide to bet on, enjoy the game.
